Chicago, McHenry and South Holland Ill. - The Elgin Community College volleyball team beat Malcolm X and South Suburban and fell to McHenry and College of DuPage.

The Spartans improve to 6-13 in their overall season.

Sept. 30: ECC 3, Malcolm X 0

Team leaders included Emma Turner in kills (nine), Sydney Pieron in assists (14), Mia Jones in aces (five) and points (11), Katey Mitchell and Annie Tiu in digs (10) and Ireland Mahoney in blocks (two).

Oct. 1: ECC 0, McHenry 3

Turner led the team in kills (seven) and points (seven) as Pieron recorded nine assists and three recorded aces. Abriella Navarrete tallied two blocks with Katey Mitchell registering six digs.

Oct. 4: ECC 3, South Suburban 1

All stat leaders recorded season-highs with Turner in kills (13) and points (16), Pieron with 25 assists, Bryanna Sanchez in digs (29) and Anna Van Hauter with two blocks.

Oct. 4: ECC 0, DuPage 3

Turner recorded three aces, 10 kills and 13.5 points, Pieron had 17 assists, Sanchez tallied 16 digs and Spates made two blocks.

The Spartans travel to face Triton on Monday at 6 p.m.
