Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team split a pair of games this week.
The Spartans move to 9-10 overall and 2-2 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.
Jan. 13: Oakton 61, Elgin 51
Maziah Marc led Elgin with her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and a team-high 17 rebounds. Christiana Glover added 11 points, with a pair of three-pointers, while Tori Ruffin chipped in nine points and four rebounds. Abigail Esparza contributed eight points, including two three-pointers.
ECC finished with 51 rebounds, including 15 on the offensive end.
Jan. 15: McHenry 56, Elgin 59
Marc secured her seventh double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Heaven Sims chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds, also recording a double-double, while Ruffin added 10 points and six rebounds .
ECC forced 18 McHenry turnovers and generated second-chance opportunities with 18 offensive rebounds.
The Spartans are back on the road to face Waubonsee on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
