Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball earned a 57–52 victory over Illinois Valley Community College on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans placed three players in double figures, led by Christiana Glover, who scored a team-high 11 points. Heaven Sims added 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while Tori Ruffin chipped in nine points and a team-best nine rebounds.
Elgin shot 32.3 percent from the field and 27.8 percent from three-point range. ECC controlled the glass with a 48-42 rebounding advantage, including 20 offensive boards.
The Spartans open conference play at Prairie State on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 5:15 p.m.
