Malta, Ill. — The Elgin Community College women's basketball team came up just short in a 62–54 road loss at Kishwaukee on Wednesday night.

The Spartans move to 6-7 in their overall season.

Maziah Marc posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Heaven Sims added nine points, 11 rebounds, and a team-high six assists and two blocks.

The Spartans held a 51–49 rebounding edge, including 19 offensive boards. Alisea Doan chipped in seven points as Tori Ruffin and Abigail Esparza combined to add 12 points.

Off the bench, Sami Carlino grabbed a season-best eight rebounds.

ECC hosts Illinois Valley on Saturday at 1 p.m.
