Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team secured a 99–38 win over Wright College on Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans improve to 6-4 in their overall season.
Elgin set the tone early with a 27-point first quarter, building a 56–16 halftime lead. Elgin's defense forced 26 turnovers and held Wright to just 21 percent shooting for the game.
Abigail Esparza hit a career-high eight three-pointers and finished with 26 points. Asha Gray finished with 15 points, six rebounds and two steals.
Christiana Glover posted one of her best outings of the season with 13 points, six rebounds and four assists. Heaven Sims added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Kayla Ketchens chipped in nine points, four rebounds, and two steals and Alisea Doan added nine points and six assists.
The Spartans head to Florida for a pair of games on Friday and Saturday.
