Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's basketball earned a 58–51 victory over Harper College on Thursday night.

Heaven Sims finished with a team-high 18 points, six offensive rebounds, and 15 total rebounds while also adding four assists and three steals.

Freshman guard Tori Ruffin scored 17 points while Christiana Glover added nine points and four rebounds.

Off the bench, Asha Gray made an impact with eight rebounds and six points. Kenyia Pittmann and Maziah Marc (five rebounds, two assists) helped anchor Elgin's backcourt.

Elgin outrebounded Harper 41–35, including 14 offensive boards, which proved critical in generating second-chance opportunities.

The Spartans travel to Wisconsin to take on Bryant & Stratton on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
