Elgin, Ill., Feb. 10, 2022 - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team fell 79-44 to Oakton on Thursday night.

The Spartans dip to 3-18 overall and 0-10 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Owls improve to 17-5 and 5-4.

ECC hung tough in the first quarter as they trailed 16-15 entering the second. Oakton found its most dominant quarter, outscoring Elgin 24-11 in the second to enter halftime with a 40-26 edge.

Elgin struggled to connect its shots in the third quarter, only scoring four points. The women rallied to score 14 in the fourth quarter, but were unable to make-up the deficit as they lost 79-44.

The Spartans host the College of Lake County on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.
