Elgin, Ill., Jan. 6, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team fell 79-46 to Waubonsee on Thursday night.

The Spartans move to 3-10 as the Chiefs improve to 10-3 on the season.

Ariann Franco registered a team-high three assists as Jessie Dumoulin led the team with 16 points, six steals and nine rebounds. Ariana Marchan also grabbed nine rebounds.

Elgin kept it close in the first quarter, trailing 22-15 at the start of the second. But the women were unable to connect shots as they entered halftime at a 40-21 deficit.

The Chiefs continued to outscore ECC in the final 20 minutes, as Elgin suffered the loss.

The Spartans host Moraine Valley on Thursday at 6:15 p.m.
