Palatine, Ill., Nov. 2, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team fell 57-37 in its season opener on Tuesday.

The Spartans dip to 0-1 as the Hawks improve to 1-0.

Jessie Dumoulin recorded 12 rebounds and nine points as Takara Campbell posted 10 points, nine rebounds and four steals in just 20 minutes of play.

Harper had a dominant first quarter, leading 20-9. The Spartans tightened up its offense to trail 26-23 entering the second half.

The Hawks outscored ECC 19-4 in the third quarter to solidify its lead, as Elgin fell 57-37 in the end.

The Spartans open home competition against Illinois Valley on Thursday.
