Elgin, Ill., Dec. 13, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team fell 75-46 to Sauk Valley Community College on Monday night.
The Spartans move to 2-7 as the Eagles improve to 4-2.
Ariann Franco and Jessie Dumoulin each registered 14 points with Franco and Alyssa Santiago leading the team with six rebounds apiece. Franco, Dumoulin and Trinity Reyes each grabbed a season-best three steals.
ECC struggled to match Sauk's pace as the women trailed 21-9 as the end of the first quarter.
The Spartans found some rhythm in the second, recording a game-high 16 points and holding the Eagles to a game-low 14 points to enter halftime at a 35-25 deficit.
SVCC pulled away in the second half to hand ECC the 75-46 loss.
The Spartans are back on the road to face Milwaukee Area Technical College on Saturday at 5 p.m.
