Elgin, Ill., Nov. 9, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's basketball team was edged 51-45 by Olive-Harvey on Tuesday night.

The Spartans dip to 0-3 as OHC moves to 1-1.

Jessie Dumoulin led the team with 12 points, with Trinity Reyes recording 11 and Ariann Franco scoring 10. Isabella Yambo grabbed the team-high nine rebounds.

ECC controlled the first quarter, leading 8-14 entering the second.

But OHC found its most dominant quarter, holding Elgin to six points as they took the lead at 27-20.

The Spartans were unable to tighten the gap in the third, resulting in a 43-31 entering the final quarter.

The women found some defensive rhythm again, limiting Olive-Harvey to eight points, but still falling 51-45.

The Spartans host the College of DuPage on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
