Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's basketball team suffered a 74-55 loss to Rock Valley on Tuesday night.

The Spartans move to 6-4 in their overall season.

Elgin's bench provided a major spark, accounting for more than half of the team's scoring. Jaylen Wells led the way with 11 points on efficient 4-of-7 shooting, while Unique Shaw added nine points, all from beyond the arc. Starters Davee Flowers and Maddox Hollian also chipped in nine points apiece, with Flowers registering seven rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

ECC battled on the glass, finishing with 41 total rebounds, highlighted by seven rebounds from both Flowers and Wells. The Spartans also saw encouraging defensive hustle from several players, combining for eight steals and four blocks.

The Spartans are back on the road to face No. 10 South Suburban on Thursday at 7 p.m.
