River Grove and South Holland, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team fell in the final regular season games on Saturday and Sunday.
The Spartans move to 18-24-1 in their overall record.
May 2: Elgin 4, Triton 7
Brady Rickert made the start and recorded five strikeouts in three innings. Casey Kaszniak, Kyle Wayda and Jack Bennett pitched in relief.
Reed Burns and Ryan Schneider each collected two RBI each and Connor Lund tallied two runs on two hits.
May 3: Elgin 12, South Suburban 14
Matthew Brunscheen hit his second homerun and Schneider registered his fifth of the season.
Schneider led the team with five RBI, Lund had three hits and Nathan Gerritsen recorded three runs.
Matthew Rosado started the game and went four innings with five strikeouts. Josh Caccia, Caleb Williams and Nic DiMarzio also made appearances on the mound.
The Spartans head to Black Hawk College in Moline for the Region 4 playoffs. They face Bryant & Stratton at 9 a.m. and Black Hawk at 3 p.m.
