Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College volleyball team fell 3-0 to Sauk Valley on Wednesday night.

The Spartans move to 8-18 overall as the Skyhawks improve to 19-17.

Team leaders include Cassie Pitte in kills (seven), Cece Gonzales in assists (nine) and aces (three) and Leah Murphy in digs (seven). Pitte and Murphy each tallied 10 points during the contest.

ECC had an exciting first set, pushing it to extra points before SVCC was able to clinch the 31-29 win. ECC went on to fall 25-11 and 25-8 in the next two sets.

The Spartans travel to Grayslake, Ill. on Nov. 5 for the Region 4 Championships at the College of Lake County. Elgin is set to play Morton (19-17) at 9 a.m.
