Sugar Grove, Ill. - The Elgin Community College volleyball team was edged 3-0 by Waubonsee on Wednesday night.

The Spartans move to 6-15 overall and 1-5 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play as the Chiefs improve to 5-16 and 2-4.

Team leaders included Leah Murphy in kills (16), points (18.5) and digs (11) and Cece Gonzales in assists (28). Aylin Garcia and Ryann Mitchell each recorded three service aces.

The first two sets were pushed into extra points, with ECC falling 26-24 and 28-26 before a 25-13 loss in set three.

The Spartans compete in two matches at the Rock Valley Invite on Friday.
