Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College volleyball team fell 3-1 to Morton on Wednesday night.

The Spartans move to 6-14 overall and 1-4 in the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) as the Panthers improve to 14-14 and 4-1.

Team leaders included Leah Murphy in digs (14), blocks (four), kills (20) and points (25), Cece Gonzales in assists (33) and Cassie Pitte in service aces (six).

Morton took the first two sets 25-15 and 25-22, but Elgin was able to push it to a fourth with a 25-23 win. ECC kept it close, but fell 25-21 in the final set.

The Spartans travel to Sugar Grove, Ill. to face Waubonsee on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
