Joliet and Sugar Grove, Ill. - The Elgin Community College volleyball team fell in its first three matches before winning its final game over the weekend.
The Spartans move to a 5-12 overall record.

Leah Murphy and Cassie Pitte led the team with six kills with Ryann Mitchell just behind at four. Murphy tallied eight digs and Kathleen Draftz registered a season-high of seven. Cece Gonzales recorded a team-best 13 assists.
ECC fell 25-9, 25-10 and 25-21.
Game 4: Elgin 3, Black Hawk 2
Team leaders included Murphy in kills (18) and points (18), Gonzales in assists (32), Pitte, Mitchell and Draftz in service aces (four), Draftz in digs (16) and Adeena Baluyut in blocks (three).
Elgin fell 25-14 in the first two sets before rallying back 25-23, 25-21 and 15-11 to take the victory.
The Spartans travel to River Grove on Monday to face Triton at 6 p.m.
