Elgin, Ill., Sept. 9, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's tennis team fell 9-0 to Moraine Valley in its home opener.

The Spartans lost 6-0 and 6-3 at No. 3 doubles.

Its three individuals competed at No. four, five and six singles.

No. 4 lost 6-1 in the first and was edged 6-4 in the second set. No. 6 lost 6-0 in straight sets.

No. 5 won the first set, but was unable to hold on, falling 6-0 in the second and 10-3 in the third.

The Spartans face Waubonsee on Thursday at 2:45 p.m.
