Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College women's soccer team fell in a pair of games to open their 2025 season.

August 21: Mineral Area 1, Elgin 0

ECC recorded eight shots on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net in this tough matchup. Mineral Area scored the lone goal of the game in the 82nd minute and hung on hand Elgin their first loss of the season.

Delaney Schulz recorded eight saves as Elena Carlos, Julissa Ortiz, Cassandra Magallanes, Jacqueline Alvarez, Jana Alzubi, Peyton Kohn and Breanna Baumann all registered a shot on goal.

August 23: South Suburban 5, Elgin 0

South Suburban scored two goals in the first half and three in the second to clinch the 5-0 victory.

Schulz tallied a massive 15 saves throughout the game. Baumann, Carlos and Ortiz each collected one shot on goal.

The Spartans host Moraine Valley in their first conference matchup on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
