Cicero, Ill., Sept. 1, 2021 - The Elgin Community College women's soccer team opened its 2021 season with a 2-0 loss to Morton College.

Despite the loss, goalkeeper Joana Mercado had an outstanding game, tallying 14 saves.

Next up for the Spartans is a match at Parkland on Sept. 4.
