Sugar Grove, Ill. - The Elgin Community College softball team split a pair of games with Waubonsee on Tuesday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 8-24 overall and 6-8 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Game One: Waubonsee 14, Elgin 1

Kenya Ventura registered the sole RBI of the game with Jamyra Thomas bringing in the run. Ventura, Alyson Sebahar and Zoe Kaler collected one hit apiece.

Sebahar struck out one batter in five innings of play.

Game Two: Elgin 9, Waubonsee 6

Chloe Potter and Ventura hit their first collegiate homeruns. Kaler went 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Ventura struck out four batters in 5.2 innings from the circle.

The Spartans play a doubleheader at Harper on Wednesday starting at 3 p.m.
