Softball Earns Conference Split

Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College softball team split a pair of games with Prairie State on Monday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 7-23 overall and 5-7 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Game One: Prairie State 5, Elgin 11

Alyson Sebehar earned a win in the circle as she pitched seven innings and collected five strikeouts.

Team leaders included Ava Faber in RBI (four), Chloe Potter in hits (four) and Maile Fuller in runs (three) and walks (four).

Julissa Aguinaga, Camila Alonzo, Zoe Kaler and Faber each recorded a double.

Game Two: Elgin 2, Prairie State 10

Kenya Ventura tied a season-high seven strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.

Aguinaga collected one run on two hits with Fuller recording two RBI and a double.

The Spartans will be on the road for the rest of the season. They face Waubonsee on Tuesday for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
