Softball Falls at Kishwaukee

Malta, Ill. - The Elgin Community College softball team fell 9-8 and 10-2 to Kishwaukee College on Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans dip to 1-8 as the Kougars won its first two of the season to move to 2-7.

Game 1: Kishwaukee 9, Elgin 8

 

Game 2: Kishwaukee 10, Elgin 2

ECC held Kish scoreless through the first two innings, but the Kougars ralled for 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Alexis Nally, Mattea Mangiaracin and Sarah Kinney hit singles to get on base in the fourth. Sharon Dooley popped it into a sacrifice fly to advance Nally home.

Natalie Stumph and Hailey Hall also hit singles in the fifth inning and advanced an additional base in Alexis Peterson's groundout. Haley Geistler earned an RBI-single to wrap the game up with a 10-2 loss.

The Spartans travel to Palos Hills, Ill. to face Moraine Valley on Thursday at 3 p.m.
