NJCAA Division II Preseason Poll

The Elgin Community College men's soccer team opens its season ranked 17th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men's Soccer Preseason Poll.

The nod comes one year after the most successful season in program history. ECC finished as the Region 4 runner-up with a 15-4-3 record.

Key returners include First Team All-Region selections Adrian Diaz and Ariel Gomez and second team honorees Gabriel Arias and Christian Escobedo. Brandon Gonzalez was named the Conference Goalie of the Year as Reyli Perez earned honorable mention All-Conference honors.

Diaz ended his season ranked top 16th in the nation in goals (16) and 23rd in points (36). Escobedo was tied for 16th in assists with 11.

Men's soccer opens its season at home against No. 15 Mineral Area on Thursday, August 23. Kick-off is slated for 5 p.m.
