Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team trailed Waubonsee 4-1 on Sept. 20 before falling 7-2 on Oct. 13.
Waubonsee struck early with goals at 1:38, 10:38 and 14:01 for an early three-goal lead. They struck again at 43:53 to enter halftime with a 4-0 lead.
ECC scored 2:04 into the second half to tighten the score up to 4-1 before the game was suspended due to continuous lightening in the area.
Play was picked up on Oct. 13 with 38:29 remaining in the second half.
WCC scored at 54:37 and 65:10 to pad their lead to 6-1 before Elgin scored at the 67:27 mark.
Waubonsee scored its seventh and final goal with three minutes remaining to end the game with a 7-2 final score.
The Spartans conclude its season with a 3-8-1 overall record.
