Elgin, Ill., Sept. 18, 2021 - The Elgin Community College men's soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over Kishwaukee on Saturday.
The Spartans move to 2-4 as the Kougars dip to 4-4-1.
ECC had a few early chances, such as an opportunity in the fifth minute. The offense drew the opposing goalkeeper out of the box and took a shot on goal, but a defender found himself in the perfect spot to deflect the potential goal.
A corner kick was awarded in the eigth minute, but the Spartans were not able to capitalize on the opportunity.
Uriel Carachure scored the first goal with 10:36 left in the first to give the Spartans the 1-0 lead heading into the half.
Jose Banuelos sent one more into the lower right of the net in the 83rd to secure the 2-0 victory.
The men head to the College of Lake County on Tuesday for a match beginning at 4 p.m.
