Lemont, Ill. - The Elgin Community College golf team finished second at the Moraine Valley Invite on Thursday afternoon.

The Spartans shot a 321 to edge out Moraine Valley and Waubonsee by five strokes. Oakton won with a 294.

Nooa Hakala finished fifth out of the 26 golfers. He registered a 75, just four strokes over par.

Jack Karpowicz earned a seventh place finish with an 80, followed by Nicholas Heinrich and Nathaniel Draper tying for 12th with an 83.

Ethan Ward shot an 85 as an individual.

ECC travels to Northbrook for Oakton's Invitational on Wednesday. Tee-off is slated for 12:30 p.m.
