West Dundee, Ill., Sept. 8, 2021 - The men's golf team hosted its Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Invite on Wednesday, and finished fourth for the second time in a row.

The team combined for a new season-best of 370, 13 strokes better than what they shot on Sept. 1.

Brenden Gilbert led the team with a 77, just five strokes over par, finishing third out of a field of 21 golfers.

Payton Yee shot 48 in the first nine and tightened it up to 41 on the back nine to tie his season-best of 84.

Brandon Jakl recorded an 89, one stroke away from his season-best and Jack Charles wrapped up the group with a 120.

The Spartans head to Palos Park, Ill. for Morton College's ISCC Invite beginning at 12:30 p.m.
