Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team fell short in two games against Morton on Friday afternoon.

The Spartans move to 4-15 overall and 0-2 in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) play.

Game One: ECC 8, Morton 9

Connor Lund hit his first collegiate homerun and earned four RBI to lead the Elgin offense. Nathan Gerritsen, Wyatt Sabalaskey, Reed Burns and Matthew Brunscheen registered one RBI apiece.

Josh Caccia tallied four strikeouts in 5.1 innings as Nic DiMarzio recorded one in 0.2 innings.

Game Two: Morton 17, ECC 7

Leth Pearson made the start on the mound with Jack Bennett, Miguel Rodriguez and Kyle Wayda coming in for relief. Pearson struckout two batters in three innings and Wayda tallied one strikeout in his 0.1 innings.
