Eight Earn All-Conference Honors

The No. 21 Elgin Community College baseball team has eight student-athletes that earned Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) honors.

All-Conference recipients are chosen based on statistics from conference play. The Spartans won the conference with a 13-1 record.

Nick Weaver was selected as the Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-ISCC. He caught every conference match-up with a .489 batting average, 26 runs on 22 hits, and caught four of seven runners stealing.

Freshman Josh Caccia earned Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference recognition with a 3-0 record in 19 innings with 15 strikeouts and a 0.00 ERA.

Jack Kerno was selected to the First Team for the second time in his career. He registered 20 runs on 17 hits with 18 RBI, including six doubles and one triple.

Aiden Kashuba earned First Team honors with a .465 batting average, three home runs and 22 RBI.

Wrapping up First Team selections was Leth Pearson. He went 3-0 in 17 innings with a 1.59 earned run average.

Cole Clemens earned Second Team honors in the outfield with a .342 batting average and 15 runs on 13 hits.

Jaden Alberson pitched his way to Second Team recognition. He went 16.1 innings with a 3-0 record and collected 20 strikeouts with a 2.76 ERA.

Earning Honorable Mention status is Chris Lara with a .404 on-base percentage and nine double plays.

The Spartans host Milwaukee Tech and Moraine Valley on Friday for one of four NJCAA Region 4 Semifinal match-ups.
