The No. 21 Elgin Community College baseball team opens post season play in the NJCAA Region 4 tournament this weekend. The Spartans will host one of the four semifinal sites as the number three seed.
ECC will host the number six seed Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) and number 10 Moraine Valley Community College (MVCC) on Friday and Saturday. This is a double elimination tournament
MATC and MVCC open play on Friday at 9 a.m. The Spartans take on Milwaukee Tech at noon followed by playing game three against Moraine Valley at 3 p.m.
Saturday's championship game will be held at 11 a.m. Game five is an if-necessary match-up would begin at 3 p.m.
The winner of this semifinal advances to the Region 4 Championships with the other three site winners.
