Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team was edged 4-1 by Triton on Friday.

The Spartans move to 20-28 as the Trojans complete their regular season with a 35-18 record.

Jaden Alberson led the offense going 2-for-2 with two singles and one run. Brett Huiner pitched seven complete innings and recorded eight strikeouts. Daniel Kinney pitched two innings of relief and tallied three strikeouts.

Triton scored runs in the fourth and fifth for a 3-0 lead after five innings.

Alberson made his own way around the bases in the sixth. He earned a walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch, third on a passed ball and scored on a separate passed ball for the sole Elgin run of the game.

TC scored one more in the eighth for the 4-1 final score.

The Spartans host Black Hawk-Moline on Saturday at noon.
