Glen Ellyn - The Elgin Community College baseball team split a pair of games with College of DuPage on Tuesday.
The Spartans move to 17-23 in their overall season.
Game One: ECC 1, COD 2
Charlie Jury registered one RBI on the day with Gavin Crofoot bringing in the run. Drew Piaskowy pitched the entire game and tallied four strikeouts.
Crofoot led off the first inning with a walk, stole second and made it to third on a wild pitch. Jury's fielder's choice allowed Crofoot to score ECC's sole run of the game.
DuPage tied it up in the fourth inning and walked it off in the bottom of the seventh to hand the Spartans a loss.
Game Two: ECC 7, COD 4
Luke Cano clinched his first win of the season with two innings of relief and Daniel Kinney earned his third save.
Daniel Kinney recorded his third save of the season. Jury tallied two runs and one RBI.
COD put a run on the board in the second inning for an early advantage.
Jury singled in the fourth and scored on Max Hertel's second triple of the season. A single from Riley pushed Hertel across for their second run of the inning.
DuPage scored three in the bottom of the inning to take back the lead at 2-4.
Erik Teran II led off the sixth inning with a single and scored on Jury's double. Hertel was hit by a pitch and Ryan Caccia replaced him as a pinch runner. Riley's ground ball scored the second run of the inning.
Josh Collins was hit by a pitch to load up the bases and scored on Jack Keck's sacrifice fly. Crofoot and Nelson walked to take the 7-4 lead.
Daniel Kinney pitched the bottom of the seventh and tallied two strikeouts to clinch the victory.
The Spartans host South Suburban on Wednesday for a single game on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
