Oak Creek, Wis. - The Elgin Community College baseball split a pair of games at Milwaukee Tech on Friday.
The Spartans move to 9-20 overall as the Stormers move to 14-14 in their season.
Game 1: ECC 2, MATC 8
Jaden Alberson pitched five innings of relief and tallied six strikeouts.
Josh Collins and Ty Sierpien got on base from walks and both advanced a base on a wild pitch. Collins then scored on Julian Sturtevant's groundout.
Milwaukee held a 6-1 lead at the end of five innings.
Logan Riley and Scott Emma hit back-to-back singles to start the sixth. Riley scored on Max Hertel's single to right field for the second run.
MATC scored two more in the bottom of the sixth to take the 2-8 victory.
Game 2: ECC 3, MATC 2
Frank Szymanski went five innings and recorded five strikeouts. Matt Reuscher came in the last two innings and recorded three strikeouts in the bottom of the seventh to clinch the victory.
The Stormers scored two runs in the bottom of the first to take an early lead.
Elgin loaded the bases in the second after Ryan Nelson was hit by a pitch and singles from Nathan Euliano and Ryan Caccia. Jack Keck earned a walk for the first run to score.
Gavin Crofoot started off the fifth with a walk and advanced to second on Hertel's sacrifice. Erik Teran II is intentionally walked followed by a single from Riley. Nelson hit it into a sacrifice fly to tie up the game at 2-2.
Jack Keck walked in the sixth and made it to third base on two wild pitches. Collins hit an RBI-single for the game-winning run.
This win snapped ECC's eight-game losing streak.
The Spartans travel to Palos Hills to face Moraine Valley for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
