Joliet, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team suffered a 14-4 loss to Joliet on Thursday afternoon.
The Spartans move to 8-19 in their overall record.
Charlie Jury led the offense with three RBI as Ty Sierpien, Josh Genz, Erik Teran II and Logan Riley scored the runs. Jaden Jones made the start and recorded three strikeouts in five innings.
Elgin loaded the bases in the third and all three scored on Jury's three-RBI double to right field.
The Wolves countered with two runs in the bottom of the inning to make it a 3-2 game.
In the top of the fourth, Riley scored on a slew of errors. He reached first and made it to second on the same error, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on the next wild pitch for the fourth and final run.
Joliet scored two in the fourth to tie it up 4-4 and ran away with the lead for a 4-14 final score.
The Spartans are back on the road to face Milwaukee Area Technical College on Friday.
