Wauwatosa, Wis. - The Elgin Community College baseball team split a pair of games with Bryant & Stratton on Friday afternoon.
The Spartans move to 8-12 in their overall season.
Game 1: BSC 18, ECC 8
Erik Teran II went 2-for-3 with two runs, four RBI and a home run. Max Hertel scored two runs as Ryan Caccia registered two RBI.
Bryant & Stratton took an early lead with four runs in the second inning.
Teran hit a three-run homer to tighten the score up to 3-4 in the third.
The Bobcats brought in one run in the bottom of the inning and six in the fourth to extend their lead to 11-3.
Elgin countered in the top of the fifth with five runs. Teran and Caccia highlighted the inning with doubles.
BSC scored one in the fifth and six in the sixth to end the game with an 18-8 final score.
Game 2: BSC 1, ECC 4
Gavin Crofoot recorded one run, one RBI and a triple to lead the offense. Jaden Alberson recorded his first win of the season, going six innings and tallying seven strikeouts.
Ryan Nelson got on from an error, Teran singled and Logan Riley walked to load up the bases in the first inning. Charlie Jury was hit by a pitch to bring in a run.
Teran began the third inning with a triple and scored on a groundout for the second run of the game.
Ty Sierpien walked and scored on Crofoot's RBI triple. Nelson singled to send Crofoot home to make it a 4-0 game.
Bryant & Stratton scored one run in the fifth as the game would result in a 4-1 final score.
The Spartans travel to Sugar Grove to face Waubonsee on Saturday.
