Elgin, Ill. - The Elgin Community College baseball team was edged 3-1 by Joliet Junior College on Wednesday.

The Spartans move to 22-17 as the Wolves improve to 33-20.

Alijah Acevedo, Eli Johnson, Nick Schumann and Nik Panico registered one hit in the game. Panico registered seven strikeouts in his four innings on the mound.

Joliet scored the first run of the day in the fifth inning.

Panico and Schumann hit back to back doubles to score Elgin's lone run of the game.

The Wolves pulled away in the seventh to hand ECC the 3-1 loss.

The Spartans travel to River Grove, Ill. on Saturday to face Triton in a single game at 11 a.m.
