Spartan baseball split their doubleheader on Tuesday with Lake County College. The Spartans won game 1 by the score of 7-5. Elgin took the lead when Luke Menard hit his second homerun of the game in bottom of 6th inning. The three run shot put the Spartans up by two runs. Nik Panico had three doubles in the gams and Nick Manthei and Kris Kempe teamed up for the win. Kempe threw three scoreless innings in relief to earn the W. In Game two the Spartans lost by the score of 5-3. Menard had another two hits & Panico was very good on the mound allowing just 2 hits w/11 strikeouts and 4 walks in 5 2/3's innings pitched. Defense was very good for both teams as neither team made an error all day!
