The Elgin Community College Athletic Department had 88 student-athletes achieved Academic Honors in the Fall 2025 semester.
This marks the most student-athletes to achieve academic honors in at least four years, besting the Spring 2025 record by twenty individuals.
Students with a grade point average of 3.00-3.49 made the honors list, a 3.50-3.99 earned Dean's List recognition while a 4.0 GPA was a President's List recipient. To earn the award, students must be enrolled in six or more credits.
Twenty-seven student-athletes were named to the President's List including baseball players Jack Bennett, Calvin Bredlau, Reed Burns, Carter Novelli, Enzo Novelli, Justin Pold, Miguel Rodriguez, Matthew Rosado and Wyatt Sabalaskey. Golfers Nooa Hakala and Jack Karpowicz, soccer student-athletes Reyli Perez, Breanna Baumann, Joseline Flores, Hanne Giovenco, Veronica Hein, volleyball players Nylea Castillo, Abriella Navarrete, Bryanna Sanchez, Emma Turner and Anna Van Hauter and tennis student-athlete Trinity Tescson round out the fall sport student-athletes. Basketball player Sami Carlino, tennis student-athlete Ian Smith and softball players Zoie Adamson, Alyson Sebahar and Jamyra Thomas make up the rest of the spring athletes.
Thirty-one student-athletes made the Dean's List. Winter sport recipients are basketball players Derek Clark, Max Fessler, Elliot Foy, Unique Shaw and Deandra Lopez. Spring sport honorees include softball student-athletes Julissa Aguinaga, Montana Atchison, Ava Faber, Maile Fuller, Zoe Kaler and Chloe Potter, baseball players Matthew Brunscheen, Brendan Campbell, Sam Cutinello, Nate Gerritsen, Ryan Schneider and Caleb Williams and tennis student-athlete Samuel Penna. Soccer had Adan Garcia, Xavier Marquez, Jose Ortiz-Gavina, Charlie Ames, Kevin Aguilar, Jacqueline Alvarez, Ashley Crisci, Adeline Kinsella, Peyton Kohn, Cassandra Magallanes and Daisy Sarmiento earn the honor with volleyball players Sydney Pieron and Annie Tiu rounding out the group.
Twenty-nine individuals recorded GPAs to qualify for the Honors List. Twelve from baseball earned the honor including Antonio Alanis, Alex Bihun, Josh Caccia, Nic Dimarzio, Sam Hays, Casey Kaszniak, Connor Lund, Leth Pearson, Brady Rickert, Kyle Wayda, Max Woodward and Evan Wurtz.
Basketball players Obsa Abaomer, Immanuel Brown, Angel Nunez, Mia Calderon and Alyssa Wysuph earned the honor. The soccer players include Tyler Buthman, Adan Garcia, Brandon Gonzalez, Oscar Jimenez, Matthew Kapetan, Xavier Marquez, Reyli Perez, Luis Rubio, Coen Stewart and Jacqueline Alvarez. Others named to the list are golfer Kyle Schutt, softball players Camila Alonzo, Sydney Haughs and Giana Piazza and tennis student-athletes Julia Burley, Izzy Masotti and Carlos Morales.
