Elgin, Ill. - Nine student-athletes and two coaches earned Outstanding Achievement Awards while two additional student-athletes were scholarship recipients at the Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on Sunday night.
The Elgin Sports Hall of Fame is a non-profit foundation that recognize Elgin's athletes, coaches and friends to raise money for the student-athlete scholarship program and to formally recognize individuals and teams who have contributed to the success of Elgin's sports history. The foundation has awarded more than $800,000 to students furthering their education at the college level.
Head baseball coach Bill Angelo and head men and women's soccer coach Dimitri Tsoukalas were recognized in the coaching category of the Outstanding Achievement Awards. Angelo was honored after being named the 2025 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) Baseball Coach of the Year and the Conference Male Coach of the Year. Tsoukalas was the 2024 Men's Soccer Conference and Region 4 Coach of the Year while earning the Conference Newcomer Coach of the Year.
Soccer players Elena Carlos, Adrian Diaz, Ariel Gomez, Brandon Gonzalez and Peyton Kohn, baseball student-athletes Josh Caccia, Jack Kerno and Nick Weaver and basketball player Davee Flowers collected Outstanding Achievement Awards for their performances in the 2024-25 school year.
Former women's basketball student-athlete Ceili Ramirez and baseball player Aiden Kashuba earned scholarships from the foundation. Ramirez currently attends the University Health of Science and Pharmacy in St. Louis and Kashuba is at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Both are continuing their athletic careers.
