Twenty-two Elgin Community College student-athletes were named to the 2024-25 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic Teams, as announced by the association.
Student-athletes are eligible to earn the academic honors by achieving an overall grade point average of 3.60 or higher with 24 or more credit hours. First Team honorees had a 4.0 GPA, Second Team maintained a 3.80-3.99 and Third Team honorees logged a 3.60-3.79 grade point average.
First Team recipients include Reed Burns (baseball), Maile Fuller (softball) and Maria Misiaszek (women's tennis).
Baseball student-athletes Jack Bennett, Matthew Brunscheen, Justin Ceisel, Enzo Novelli, women's basketball player Valeria Costilla, golfer Jake Russell and soccer student-athlete Ashley Crisci earned Second Team honors.
Softball student-athletes Zoie Adamson and Zoe Kaler, baseball players Antonio Alanis, Jack Kerno, Sean Riordan and Wyatt Sabalaskey, soccer student-athletes Elena Carlos, Adeline Kinsella and Peyton Kohn, basketball player Max Fessler and tennis players Matthew Crumlett and Samuel Penna made up the Third Team honorees.
Adamson and Russell also earned the honor in the 2023-24 academic year.
