The Elgin Community College Athletic Department had 66 student-athletes earn academic honors in the Spring semester.
This marks the most student-athletes to achieve academic honors in at least four years, besting the Fall 2024 record by eight.
Students with a grade point average of 3.00-3.49 made the honors list, a 3.50-3.99 earned Dean's List recognition while a 4.0 GPA was a President's List recipient. To earn the award, students must be enrolled in six or more credits.
Sixteen student-athletes were named to the President's List including baseball players Antonio Alanis, Jack Bennett, Reed Burns, Jack Kerno and Enzo Novelli and golfer Jake Russell. Women's basketball player Valeria Costilla, soccer student-athletes Elena Carlos, Adeline Kinsella and Peyton Kohn, softball player Maile Fuller, tennis student-athletes Maria Misiaszek, Amelia Stoner, Matthew Crumlett, Sahil Khanna and volleyball player Annie Tiu round out the group.
Seventeen student-athletes made the Dean's List. Recipients are basketball player Max Fessler, soccer student-athletes Ashley Crisci and Veronica Hein, softball players Zoie Adamson and Zoe Kaler, tennis student-athletes Nicole Nosbisch, Alex Espinosa and Samuel Penna and volleyball player Abriella Navarrete. Baseball had Matthew Brunscheen, Josh Caccia, Justin Ceisel, Casey Farrell, Leth Pearson, Wyatt Sabalaskey, Colin Swalley and Caleb Williams earn the honor.
Thirty-three individuals recorded GPAs to qualify for the Honors List. Eleven from baseball earned the honor including Jaden Alberson, Calvin Bredlau, Cole Clemens, Andrew Flynn, Aiden Kashuba, Carter Novelli, Sean Riordan, Miguel Rodriguez, Aidan Stratton, Trevor Swanson and Nick Weaver. Basketball players Obsa Abaomer, Immanuel Brown, Angel Nunez, Mia Calderon and Alyssa Wysuph earned the honor. The soccer players include Tyler Buthman, Adan Garcia, Brandon Gonzalez, Oscar Jimenez, Matthew Kapetan, Xavier Marquez, Reyli Perez, Luis Rubio, Coen Stewart and Jacqueline Alvarez. Others named to the list are golfer Kyle Schutt, softball players Camila Alonzo, Sydney Haughs and Giana Piazza and tennis student-athletes Julia Burley, Izzy Masotti and Carlos Morales.
