The Elgin Community College athletic programs had 39 student-athletes earn Academic All-Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference (ISCC) honors for the 2022-23 school year.
Students with a 3.0 or higher grade point average are eligible to receive each award one time during their college career. Academic All-Conference first-year recipients had to have at least 24 credits hours while the Dick Durrant honorees had 48 or more accumulated credits.
First-year selections included baseball players Quinn Butera, Josh Collins, Owen Cutinello, Josh Genz, Max Hertel, Charlie Jury, Aiden Kashuba, Jack Keck, Daniel Kinney, Jaden Jones, Andrew Shevlin and Andrew Sloan. Others earning the award on the men's side included basketball student-athletes Logan Gramly, Jadon Melvin, Cam Ranson and Trenton Shelton, golfer Trevor Book, men's soccer players Ruben Guadalajara and Omar Lara and tennis student-athletes John Eugenio and Tyler Thavong.
Basketball student-athlete Sarah Duque, softball players Niki Campo and Trista Skelnik, tennis players Vanesa Cardenas and Maria Robles Cruz and volleyball student-athletes Adeena Baluyut, Jadyn Booz-Bruce and Audrey Kellner represent the women's honorees.
Five from baseball earned the sophomore award, including Bryce Ebert, Scott Emma, Eli Johnson, Isaac Kopalchick and Frank Szymanski. Kobe Frenette of men's soccer also achieved the honor.
Layla Tiongco of basketball, Kayla Mathis of soccer, Alisa Donga of tennis and Cece Gonzales of volleyball round out the sophomore award recipients.
