The Elgin Community College Athletic Department had fifty-one student-athletes earned academic honors for the Spring 2023 semester.
Students with a grade point average of 3.00-3.49 made the honors list, a 3.50-3.99 earned Dean's List recognition while a 4.0 GPA was a President's List recipient. To earn the award, students must be enrolled in six or more credits.
Nine student-athletes were named to the President's List including four from men's soccer (Ruben Guadalajara, Omar Lara, Juan Pacheco and Sammy Rodriguez), Owen Cutinello from baseball, Tyler Thavong and Vanesa Cardenas from tennis and Adeena Baluyut and Jadyn Booz-Bruce from volleyball.
Eighteen student-athletes made the Dean's List. Recipients are baseball players Joe Becker, Quinn Butera, Josh Collins, Gavin Crofoot, Scott Emma, Eli Johnson, Charlie Jury, Isaac Kopalchick and Andrew Shevlin, basketball student-athletes Logan Gramly, Trenton Shelton, Nicole Beach and Layla Tiongco. Chris Alvarez, Joas Plancarte from soccer, John Eugenio from tennis, Trista Skelnik from softball and Cece Gonzales from volleyball.
Twenty-four individuals recorded GPAs to make the Honors List. Recipients include 11 from baseball (Alijah Acevedo, Bryce Ebert, Nathan Euliano, Josh Genz, Max Hertel, Aiden Kashuba, Jack Keck, Jaden Jones, Andrew Sloan, Frank Szymanski and Erik Teran II), five from soccer (Jesus Alonzo, Kobe Frenette, Omar Olivo, Andy Zavala and Mia Kraft), two from basketball (Jadon Melvin and Sarah Duque), two from softball (Ariela Bermudez and Niki Campo), three from tennis (Rijad Cevjan, Alisa Donga and Maria Robles Cruz) and one from volleyball (Rayanne Schubert).
