53 Earn Fall 2022 Academic Honors

The Elgin Community College Athletic Department had fifty-three student-athletes earned academic honors for the Fall 2022 semester.

Students with a grade point average of 3.00-3.49 made the honors list, a 3.50-3.99 earned Dean's List recognition while a 4.0 GPA was a President's List recipient. To earn the award, students must be enrolled in six or more credits.

Six student-athletes were named to the President's List including Niki Campo from softball, Gavin Crofoot from baseball, Audrey Kellner from volleyball and Alisa Donga, Melanie Ulrich and Tyler Thavong from tennis.

Nineteen student-athletes made the Dean's List. Recipients are Owen Cutinello, Bryce Ebert, Eli Johnson, Andrew Shevlin, Frank Szymanski and Erik Teran of baseball, Logan Gramly, Cam Ranson, Sarah Duque and Layla Tiongco of basketball, Trevor Book from men's golf, George Avila, Alexia Benitez and Kylie Brazill of soccer, Vanessa Cardenas and Maria Robles Cruz from women's tennis and Adeena Baluyut, Jadyn Booz-Bruce and Cassie Pitte of volleyball.

Twenty-eight individuals recorded GPAs to make the Honors List. Recipients include 10 from baseball (Jaden Alberson, Joe Becker, Quinn Butera, Josh Collins, Max Hertel, Charlie Jury, Aiden Kashuba, Daniel Kinney, Andrew Sloan and Julian Sturtevant), four from men's basketball (John Gray III, Jadon Melvin, Trenton Shelton and Kuba Zaczek), four from men's soccer (Chris Alvarez, Kobe Frenette, Omar Lara and Andy Zavala) and JOhn Eugenio from men's tennis.

On the women's side, two from women's basketball (Shaleea Hayes and Kelechi Uchem), two from women's soccer (Mia Kraft and Kayla Mathis), two from softball (Alexis Peterson and Trista Skelnik), two from volleyball (Cece Gonzales and Rayanne Schubert) and Giselle Brito from women's tennis.

Compared to last Fall, 12 more students earned academic honors and the average GPA of all student-athletes increased from 2.23 to 2.53.
