Elgin, Ill., Feb. 9, 2022 – Former Elgin Community College baseball player Justin Kalusa has been inducted into the Region IV Athletic Hall of Fame.
Kalusa was named First Team All-ISCC, First Team All-Region, Second Team All-American and the Region IV Player of the Year in his 2011 debut season.
He ranked 31st in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in stolen bases (25) and 28th in RBI (53). Kalusa was 35th in individual hitting with 52 runs on 84 hits, including 13 doubles and six triples for a .424 batting average.
The following year, he earned First Team All-ISCC, First Team All-Region IV, First Team All-America honors and was named the Region IV Player of the Year.
Kalusa ranked 42nd in the NJCAA in stolen bases (26) and 23rd in individual hitting (.426 batting average) with 55 runs on 83 hits, including 14 doubles and eight triples, good for 35 RBI.
He owns the Spartan program record for all-time hits.
Kalusa will be recognized for his achievements after the women's basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
